Adult Scripture Study Group
On Wednesday evenings the Adult Scripture Study Group meets to study
a selected book from the Old or New Testament. The sharing takes
place in the learning process, helps us to understand the doctrine
set forth in the sacred Scriptures, so we can put them into practice
in our lives. With the gifts granted us in this study, we can become
a part of, and living elements of, the mission of the church itself.
Alliance of the Holy family
International
This organization represents and supports St. Philomena Church in
meetings and seminars involving Alliance of the Two Hearts of Jesus
and Mary. It helps spread the First Friday and First Saturday
devotions to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus alongside the
Immaculate Heart Of Mary in an all-night solemn vigil with
adoration, prayer and worship, confessions, rosary and communal
reparation.
Bible Study
The program undertaken by this group under the guidance and
supervision of a Priest in the parish is geared towards a better
understanding and interpretation of the different parts of the
Bible. This group study is held in the Annex every Thursday from
9:00AM to 12:00 Noon.
Children's Rosary Group
This group leads the first Saturday Family Hours from 6:30AM to
7:30AM. Children are taught of the role of the Blessed Virgin May in
Jesus' life. They are also taught the importance of the Holy
Eucharist as well as the presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed
Sacrament.
Community Christian Prayer
Set up as a community praying of the weekday morning liturgy of the
hours starting at 7:45AM before the 8:00AM mass in the church.
Interested ones can, in addition, pray with the parish priests in
the Blessed Sacrament Chapel for their Monday and Friday evening
prayers at 5:00PM.
Couples for Christ
This group is a Catholic movement intended for the renewal and
strengthening of Christian family life. CFC's vision is family in
the Holy Spirit renewing the face of the earth and CFC's mission is
bringing glad tidings to the poor.
El Shaddai Catholic Charismatic Group
El Shaddai is a Catholic charismatic renewal group meeting on all
Fridays, from 7:00 to 10:00PM in the Annex.
Guadalupana Society
The Guadalupana Society has as its objective to promote membership
and encourage the members to develop a deeper and profound knowledge
of their Catholic faith, the teaching of the church and a loving
devotion to Our Lady of Americas Virgin of Guadalupe.
Immaculate Conception Rosary Group
This rosary prayer group has as its objective to inculcate the
gospel values through prayers in order to support the members by
means of counseling and fellowship. It likewise seeks to create and
develop a sense of family through personal and collective recitation
of the rosary.
Love & Prayer Charismatic Prayer Group
This group represents, support and sponsors St. Philomena Church in
meetings, seminars, healing mass, etc. involving charismatic
movements. Their meetings are every Saturday from 7:00PM to 10:00PM
in the Annex.
Our Lady of Reparation Group
This group was formed as a response to the plea of Our Lady of
Fatima to pray for the conversion of sinners and to make reparations
for mankind's sins.
Outreach to Others in Justice and Love
This is an Archdiocesan ministry that ministers to juveniles and
adults in correctional facilities. Each parish is asked to furnish
volunteers to administer our faith to juveniles who are incarcerated
at local correctional facilities. The archdiocese will provide
training.
Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) - St.
Philomena School
The purpose of the Parent/Teacher Organization is to help further
the philosophy and programs of the school for the benefit of the
entire school community. The board meets each month during school
year except December and June.
Parish School - St. Philomena School
This parish school provides an excellent integrated network of
programs in an environment dedicated to Catholic principle. The
administration and faculty of St. Philomena School, with commitment
and participation of the parents, strive to help each student enter
more deeply into Christ's life, developing a more personal
relationship with Him. A true sense of faith community is developed.
Pre-Baptism Class
Classes are scheduled three times a month to be attended by parents
and godparents in preparation for the baptism of the infant. Classes
are held on the first and third Wednesday night and second Saturday
of each month. Baptisms are held on Saturdays at 12 Noon and
appointments must be made through the rectory office.
Renew Process
Renew is a pastorally sensitive three-year process of spiritual
renewal and evangelization designed to touch the entire parish, an
effective and thorough means for parishes to develop an ongoing
style of parish life for the 21st century with the focus of
deepening our relationship with God, especially through small
Christian communities.
Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)
English and Spanish
Adult Initiation Process - A process for adults who seek to become
Catholics or to complete their initiation - *Inquiry, *Catechumenate,
and *Mystagogia. Children's Initiation Process - In the light of
adult RCIA, a special process for children who are six years or
older who have not been baptized, are prepared for baptism,
confirmation, eucharist(holy communion) full initiation. *Inquiry, *Catechumenate,
and *Mystagogia.
Santo Niño De Cebu - Carson Prayer
Group
A small prayer group of parishioners from the Island of Cebu,
Philippines, conducting prayers in honor of the patron saint, Holy
Infant Jesus, also known as Santo Niño de Cebu.
Spanish Charismatic Prayer Group
This group is dedicated towards praying for the sick and for our
church.
St. Martha Society
This group recites the daily rosary after the 8:00AM mass inside the
church. Once a week, on a Thursday morning, the volunteers belonging
to this group attend to the housekeeping chores of the church which
include polishing and whatever cleaning is necessary to make our
house of worship orderly and worthy.
World Apostolate Of Fatima (Blue Army)
This group meets weekly in the school library at 7:00PM to say the
rosary and listen to the weekly mass readings.
Youth Prayer Group
This group hold prayer meetings weekly for St. Philomena's youth and
surrounding areas. They teach the youth to know God in a personal
way, encourage them to walk and grow in their Catholic faith and
inspire them to have active church involvement.
